About Us

A Word From Our Founders

Thank you so much for taking the time to learn about Mission E4. My wife, Tanya, and I began the organization in February 2005 after returning from three-and-a-half years of full-time service in the country of Haiti. In our capacity as full-time missionaries in Haiti, we were responsible for the oversight of 19 elementary schools, a high school, 18 churches, and a medical clinic. We had the privilege of leading about 70 short-term mission teams during our stay in Haiti and another 30 teams from 2005 to 2011. In total, we have led over 3000 individuals on overseas trips.

In working with these short-term teams, the Lord gave us a core message to share with these one-week visitors – “God calls all Christians to be missionaries.” Whether it is to be a missionary somewhere on foreign soil, or in your own backyard; whether it is to be a full-time paid minister or a full-time grocery store clerk with a ministry to those around you, we are all called to active ministry as Christ’s ambassadors!

Another amazing thing that we found from leading short-term teams was that people were so willing to drop denominational boundaries, and focus on two core elements of our faith – sharing the Gospel of Jesus and helping those in need. The normal divisions and distractions so prevalent in our Western culture didn’t seem as important when faced with the challenge of ministering together in Haiti. Eventually, the Lord began to stir up a desire in Tanya and me to see this same unity and action among the churches in the United States. We knew the Lord was calling us to a ministry that would span the globe.

Ephesians 4:11-13 became the central passage of Scripture on which we founded Mission E4. Our main theme and call is to assist the local church in equipping God’s people for service, bringing a greater level of maturity to believers, and to bring unity to the “Body of Christ” at large. We have not been called to start a church, but to come alongside the evangelical church worldwide to strengthen, train, empower, and connect.
